Shipping & Delivery

Shipping Large, Custom-Made Art & Architectural Products

WORLD STONE & BRONZE CO. products range from decorative pieces to monumental stone, bronze, stainless-steel, fiberglass, fountain, fireplace, memorial, and architectural installations. Shipping is therefore evaluated as part of the project rather than treated like ordinary parcel delivery.

How Shipping Is Quoted

Freight pricing can depend on:

  • Finished product dimensions and weight
  • Number and size of crates
  • Origin and destination
  • Residential, commercial, port, warehouse, or job-site delivery
  • Liftgate, forklift, crane, rigging, or unloading requirements
  • Inside delivery or restricted-access conditions
  • International customs and port requirements
  • Delivery appointment requirements
  • Expedited or special-handling requests

Shipping is included only when expressly stated in the written quotation or order terms.

Professional Crating & Packaging

Packaging is selected according to material, size, fragility, geometry, finish, and shipping mode. Depending on the product, protection can include wrapping, foam or cushioning, internal bracing, pallets, custom wood crating, steel framing, separation of detachable components, moisture protection, or other methods.

Large fountains, sculptures, fireplace mantels, columns, and architectural components may ship in multiple crates or sections.

Domestic Freight

Domestic orders may move by parcel carrier for small items or by LTL, truckload, specialized freight, flatbed, or other commercial transportation for larger products. The appropriate method is selected based on size, weight, handling requirements, and destination access.

International Shipping

International shipping may be available for qualifying projects. Depending on the destination, additional considerations can include:

  • Ocean or air freight
  • Port handling
  • Customs documentation
  • Import duties and taxes
  • Customs brokerage
  • Destination-terminal charges
  • Local delivery from port or terminal
  • Import permits or local requirements

Unless specifically included in writing, duties, taxes, customs fees, brokerage, storage, demurrage, destination charges, and local installation are not assumed to be included in the product price.

Planning Site Access

Before shipment, customers should evaluate whether the delivery vehicle and unloading equipment can safely reach the site. Useful information includes:

  • Road and driveway width
  • Gate width and height
  • Overhead wires or branches
  • Weight-restricted roads or bridges
  • Loading dock availability
  • Forklift or crane access
  • Stairs, slopes, gravel, grass, or soft ground
  • Distance from unloading point to final installation position
  • Local delivery-hour restrictions

Who Unloads the Shipment?

Unloading responsibility depends on the written shipping terms. Freight carriers are not automatically installation crews. A large crate may require a forklift, crane, telehandler, pallet jack, rigging company, contractor, or other equipment at the destination.

Confirm unloading responsibility before shipment leaves production.

Delivery Appointments

Some freight carriers require an appointment or contact before delivery. Provide accurate contact names and phone numbers. Missed appointments, inaccessible sites, re-delivery, storage, or special-handling services can create additional charges.

Receiving & Inspection

When the shipment arrives:

  1. Inspect the exterior of the crate or packaging before moving it when practical.
  2. Photograph visible punctures, crushing, broken boards, leaning crates, water exposure, or other damage.
  3. Note visible freight damage on the carrier's delivery paperwork where appropriate.
  4. Photograph the crate before and during unpacking.
  5. Inspect the product as soon as practical.
  6. Keep packaging and documentation until any shipping issue is resolved.
  7. Contact WORLD STONE & BRONZE CO. promptly with photographs and delivery records if there is a concern.

Concealed Damage

Some damage is not visible until a crate is opened. Document the packaging, internal protection, damaged area, and product from multiple angles. Do not discard evidence before the matter can be reviewed.

Delivery Is Not Installation

Delivery means transporting the product to the agreed delivery point. Installation can involve foundations, anchors, assembly, plumbing, electrical work, waterproofing, leveling, rigging, crane work, grouting, sealants, structural support, or local code compliance. Installation is included only when specifically stated in the written order documents.

Storage Before Installation

If installation cannot occur immediately, the customer should arrange secure storage appropriate to the product and packaging. Avoid unstable ground, standing water, uncontrolled construction traffic, or conditions that can damage crates or finishes.

Delivery Timing

Production lead time and freight transit time are different. Carrier schedules, weather, customs, port congestion, road conditions, site access, strikes, force majeure, and other circumstances can affect transportation after production is complete.
